Steve Rucchin, born on July 4, 1971, in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, is a former professional ice hockey player known for his contributions as a center in the National Hockey League (NHL). Rucchin enjoyed a successful junior career with the West Vancouver Sockeyes before being drafted by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the third round, 58th overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 1993-94 season and went on to establish himself as a reliable two-way forward.
Throughout his NHL career, Rucchin played for several teams, including the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, the New York Rangers, and the Atlanta Thrashers. Notably, he achieved his career-high in points during the 1996-97 season with the Ducks, recording 56 points. Rucchin earned a reputation for his strong faceoff skills and defensive play, contributing to his teams' successes and playing a crucial role in the Ducks' run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2003.
