Stu Bickel, born on October 2, 1986, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a retired American ice hockey defenseman known for his physical play and versatility on the ice. Bickel played junior hockey with the Minnesota High School leagues before advancing to the collegiate level, where he represented the University of Minnesota, gaining attention for his robust defensive skills and leadership.
Bickel was selected by the New York Rangers in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of his professional career in the National Hockey League (NHL).
