Stu English is a retired professional basketball player known for his impactful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the 1980s and early 1990s. Born on March 15, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, English gained prominence as a shooting guard with exceptional scoring ability and defensive skills. He played college basketball at the University of Minnesota, where he was a standout performer and earned All-American honors.
English was selected in the first round of the 1985 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Throughout his career, he played for multiple teams, including stints with the Hawks, the Chicago Bulls, and the New Jersey Nets. He was a key contributor to the Hawks' playoff runs and is remembered for his clutch performances in critical games, particularly during the 1987 NBA Playoffs, where he averaged 22 points per game.
