Suranga Perera, born on December 28, 1974, in Galle, Sri Lanka, is a former professional cricketer who notably represented the Sri Lankan national team. A left-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman, he made his international debut in One Day Internationals (ODIs) in 1997. Perera gained recognition for his ability to swing the ball and was a key player during his tenure.
Throughout his career, Perera participated in several international series and tournaments, contributing significantly to the Sri Lankan side with his bowling prowess. He was part of the team during pivotal matches in the late 1990s and early 2000s, earning respect for his competitive spirit and commitment to the game. In total, he played in 47 ODIs, taking 54 wickets, with his best performance being a four-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in 1997.
