Tad Boyle, born on January 6, 1963, in Greeley, Colorado, is a former basketball player and current head coach of the University of Colorado Boulder men's basketball team. He played college basketball at the University of Kansas, where he was part of the team that reached the Final Four in 1986. Following his college career, Boyle played professionally in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the Japan Basketball League, ultimately concluding his playing career in the mid-1990s.

Boyle transitioned into coaching after retiring as a player, beginning his career as an assistant coach at various institutions including the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Kansas. He became the head coach at the University of Northern Colorado in 2006, where he significantly improved the team’s performance, culminating in a Great West Conference championship. In 2010, he was appointed head coach at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he has established a reputation for building competitive programs and leading the Buffaloes to multiple NCAA tournament appearances.
