Ted Kustermann is a former professional basketball player known for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on January 12, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, Kustermann rose through the ranks of collegiate basketball, earning recognition as an All-American while playing for the University of Illinois. His outstanding performance in college basketball paved the way for his entry into the professional league.

Kustermann was selected in the second round of the 1987 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs. Over his six-year career in the NBA, he played for several teams, including the Spurs, the New Jersey Nets, and the Sacramento Kings, averaging 15.3 points per game. His most notable season came during the 1990-1991 season, when he helped lead the Kings to the playoffs and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player.
