Biography
Teddy Purcell, born on September 8, 1985, in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player known for his offensive skills and playmaking ability. Purcell played junior hockey with the St. John's Fog Devils in the QMJHL before being selected in the seventh round, 266th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He developed his skills in the minors before making his NHL debut in the 2009-2010 season.
During his NHL career, Purcell showcased his talent primarily with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played from 2010 to 2014. He recorded a career-best 65 points in the 2013-2014 season and was instrumental in the Lightning's playoff runs, including a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2011. Over his eight-season NHL career, he also played for the Los Angeles Kings, the Edmonton Oilers, and the Florida Panthers, accumulating career totals of 151 goals and 239 assists in 484 regular-season games.
