Biography
Teemu Selänne, born on July 3, 1970, in Helsinki, Finland, is a retired professional ice hockey player widely regarded as one of the greatest forwards in the history of the NHL. Selänne debuted in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets during the 1992-1993 season, where he made an immediate impact by setting a rookie record with 76 goals. Throughout his career, he played for several teams, most notably the Anaheim Ducks, where he achieved significant success and became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
Over his 21-season career in the NHL, Selänne secured numerous accolades, including the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's best rookie, and an impressive 1,457 career points, ranking him among the top scorers in NHL history. He was integral to the Ducks' success during their 2007 Stanley Cup championship run, contributing crucial goals and leadership.
