Terry Cummings is a retired American professional basketball player born on March 15, 1961. He played the majority of his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is renowned for his scoring ability and rebounding prowess. Cummings was selected by the San Diego Clippers as the second overall pick in the 1982 NBA Draft following a standout collegiate career at DePaul University.

During his NBA tenure, Cummings achieved impressive statistics, especially in the early to mid-1980s. His best seasons came in 1982–83, where he averaged 23.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, and in subsequent seasons, he maintained high scoring averages of 22.9 points per game in 1983–84 and 23.6 points in 1984–85. Cummings was named an NBA All-Star in 1984 and was recognized for his contributions on both ends of the court.
