Tim Jankovich, born on June 4, 1959, is a former American basketball player and current college basketball coach. He played collegiate basketball at the University of Kansas, where he was part of a successful program under legendary coach Larry Brown. Jankovich graduated in 1982, leaving a mark as a skilled forward known for his basketball IQ and versatility on the court.
Following his playing career, Jankovich transitioned into coaching, beginning as an assistant coach at the University of Kansas. He later served as head coach at Illinois State University from 1999 to 2001, where he achieved consistent success. Jankovich gained recognition for his ability to develop players and implement effective offensive strategies, earning him respect in the coaching community.
Jankovich eventually returned to the University of Kansas as an assistant before taking over as the head coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2016.
