Biography
Todd Bowles, born on November 18, 1963, is a former NFL player and current head coach known for his defensive expertise. He played college football at Temple University before being selected by the Washington Redskins in the eighth round of the 1986 NFL Draft. Over the course of his playing career, Bowles enjoyed a stint as a safety and cornerback, primarily with the Redskins and the San Francisco 49ers.
Transitioning to coaching after retiring as a player, Bowles quickly established a reputation for his defensive acumen. He served as an assistant coach for several NFL teams, notably as the defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals from 2013 to 2014, where he helped elevate one of the league's most formidable defenses. His success culminated in 2015 when he was hired as the head coach of the New York Jets, leading the team through a challenging rebuild.
In 2020, Bowles took the helm of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as head coach, where he made significant contributions to the team’s Super Bowl LV victory in 2021.
