Biography
Tom Kühnhackl is a German professional ice hockey forward, born on January 21, 1992, in Landshut, Germany. He began his career in the youth ranks of EV Landshut before moving to the US to play in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Kühnhackl was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 7th round, 200th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Kühnhackl made his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2015-2016 season, contributing to the team's success in winning the Stanley Cup that year. His work ethic and ability to perform in critical playoff moments earned him recognition, culminating in another Stanley Cup victory with the Penguins in the following season. Throughout his NHL career, Kühnhackl played a vital role in the Penguins' bottom six, demonstrating versatility and tenacity on the ice.
