Biography
Tom Nilsson, born on August 19, 1993, in Sweden, is a professional ice hockey defenseman known for his strong defensive skills and reliability on the ice. He began his junior career with the Rögle BK youth system, where he showcased his potential, leading to his selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round, 100th overall. Nilsson continued to develop his game in Sweden before making the transition to North America.
Throughout his career, Nilsson has played for several teams in both the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and various minor leagues in North America. After gaining experience in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and spending time with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, he returned to Sweden, where he played for teams like MODO Hockey and Örebro HK, contributing to their defensive lines.
