Tom Pfingst is a retired American basketball athlete known for his exceptional skills as a point guard during the 1980s and early 1990s. Born on June 12, 1962, in Springfield, Illinois, he played college basketball at the University of Illinois, where he led the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and earned All-Big Ten honors in his junior and senior years. Pfingst declared for the NBA Draft after his senior season and was selected in the second round by the Atlanta Hawks in 1984.
