Tom Turner is a retired professional basketball player who gained recognition for his outstanding performance as a point guard throughout his career. Born on January 15, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, Turner developed his skills on the court at a young age, eventually playing college basketball at the University of North Carolina, where he garnered All-American honors and led the team to an NCAA Championship in 2006.
Turner was selected in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. Over his eight-season professional career, he played for several teams, including the Celtics, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers, earning two NBA All-Star selections and contributing to a championship victory with the Heat in 2012.
