Tomáš Vokoun, born on July 2, 1976, in the Czech Republic, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender recognized for his accomplishments in the National Hockey League (NHL) and international play. Drafted 58th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Vokoun made his NHL debut in 1997 and played for several teams, including the Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Over his 15-year NHL career, he established himself as a reliable starter, earning a reputation for his exceptional shot-stopping ability and consistent performance.
Vokoun's career highlights include two selections to the NHL All-Star Game in 2004 and 2008, as well as leading the NHL in shutouts during the 2003-04 season while playing for the Nashville Predators.
