Tony Barbee, born on August 10, 1971, is a former professional basketball player and current coach from the United States. A standout athlete, he played college basketball at the University of Massachusetts, where he was recognized for his defensive skills and leadership on the court. Barbee helped lead the Minutemen to a notable run in the NCAA Tournament, contributing to the program's competitive legacy during the early 1990s.
Following his collegiate career, Barbee was selected in the second round of the 1993 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played for the 76ers during the 1993-1994 season, as well as for several other teams in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and overseas in leagues across Europe. Transitioning into coaching, Barbee served in various assistant coaching roles at notable programs, including the University of Texas and the University of Memphis.
