Tony Dorsett, born on April 7, 1954, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, is a former professional American football running back who made a significant impact in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1976, establishing himself as one of the top players in collegiate football. Dorsett was selected in the first round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, quickly becoming a key player in the team's offense.
During his illustrious 11-season NFL career, Dorsett played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1977 to 1987 and finished his career with the Denver Broncos in 1988.
