Tony Franklin, born on November 18, 1956, in El Dorado, Arkansas, is a former professional American football placekicker who played in the National Football League (NFL). Franklin played college football at Texas A&M University, where he gained prominence as a prolific kicker, setting several school records and earning All-American honors. He was selected in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
During his NFL career, which spanned from 1979 to 1987, Franklin played for the Philadelphia Eagles, the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints, and the San Diego Chargers.
