Biography
Trai Essex was born on December 5, 1982, in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of Michigan, where he played college football as an offensive lineman for the Michigan Wolverines. During his collegiate career, he earned accolades for his performance, contributing to the team’s success in the Big Ten Conference.
Essex was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Over his six-season tenure with the Steelers, he played a key role in the offensive line and was part of the team that won Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. His versatility allowed him to play both tackle and guard positions, making him a valuable asset to the team during his career.
After leaving the Steelers in 2011, Essex had brief stints with the Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins, before retiring from professional football.
