Travis Best was born on July 12, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois. He played college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he made a significant impact as a point guard, earning All-SEC honors. After declaring for the NBA Draft, Best was selected in the second round with the 23rd overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in 1995.
Throughout his NBA career, Best played for several teams, most notably the Indiana Pacers, where he became known for his quickness, court vision, and playmaking ability. In the 1996-97 season, he averaged 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, showcasing his skills during the Pacers' run to the NBA Finals.
