Travis Friend, born on January 7, 1981, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who played as a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a left-handed batsman. He made his international debut for Zimbabwe in 1998 at the age of 17 and quickly became known for his ability to swing the ball and his competitive spirit on the field. Over his career, Friend represented Zimbabwe in 38 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 22 Test matches until his retirement from international cricket in 2004.
Friend was part of the Zimbabwean squad during the 1999 Cricket World Cup, notably contributing to the team's memorable victory over India, where he took 3 wickets for 36 runs. In Test cricket, he achieved his best bowling figures of 6 for 87 against India in 2002, showcasing his talent on the international stage.
