Biography
Travis Green, born on December 20, 1970, in Castlegar, British Columbia, is a former professional ice hockey player and coach. He was drafted 23rd overall by the New York Islanders in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in the 1992-93 season. Over the course of his playing career, he played for several teams, including the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins, accumulating over 400 points in 900 regular-season games.
After retiring as a player in 2008, Green transitioned into coaching, starting in junior hockey and eventually becoming the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks in April 2017. Under his leadership, the Canucks demonstrated significant improvement, reaching the playoffs in 2020 and fostering the development of young stars such as Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.
