Trent Whitfield (born June 17, 1977) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player known for his tenure in professional hockey, primarily in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL). A forward, Whitfield was drafted 127th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft and began his professional career following a successful stint in junior hockey with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Throughout his career, Whitfield played for several teams in both the AHL and NHL, including the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, and the Washington Capitals. He is noted for his leadership qualities, serving as captain for various AHL teams, where he contributed significantly to team dynamics and performance.
