Troy Purcell is a former professional American football player who played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). Born on March 15, 1988, in Fort Worth, Texas, Purcell attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was a standout player on the university’s football team. After an impressive college career, he was selected in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.
During his career in the NFL, Purcell played for four different teams, including the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and the Seattle Seahawks. He amassed a total of 45 sacks over his nine-season career and was known for his exceptional pass-rushing ability, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2015. Purcell was also a key contributor to the Broncos' defense during the team’s Super Bowl run in 2016, helping to secure the championship.
