Tuncay Şanlı, born on January 16, 1982, in Trakya, Turkey, is a retired professional footballer recognized for his versatility as a forward and attacking midfielder. He began his professional career at 1. FC Köln in Germany before moving to Turkey, where he gained prominence with his performances for FC İstanbul (İstanbulspor) and Fenerbahçe. His time at Fenerbahçe solidified his status as a key player, as he contributed significantly to the team's success in the Turkish Süper Lig, winning multiple league titles.
In 2007, Tuncay transferred to the English Premier League to play for Middlesbrough, where he became known for his work rate, technical skill, and flair.
