Tuomo Ruutu is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward, born on February 16, 1983, in Helsinki, Finland. He was drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, following a standout junior career in the SM-liiga with HIFK. Ruutu debuted with the Blackhawks in the 2003-04 NHL season and quickly established himself as a skilled two-way player known for his physical style and offensive capabilities.
