Biography
Turk Schonert, born on January 15, 1957, is a former professional American football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 1979 NFL Draft after a successful collegiate career at the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his time in the league, he also had stints with the San Diego Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons.
Durante his NFL career, Schonert displayed notable versatility and skill, participating in 62 games and completing 404 passes for a total of 4,787 yards and 26 touchdowns. His tenure with the Bengals was highlighted by his contributions during the 1981 season, when the team reached Super Bowl XVI, although they ultimately fell short against the San Francisco 49ers.
