Tyronn Lue, born on May 3, 1977, in Mexico, Missouri, is a former professional basketball player and current head coach. Lue attended the University of Nebraska, where he garnered attention for his quickness, court vision, and leadership abilities on the basketball court. He was selected as the 23rd overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.
During his playing career, which spanned from 1998 to 2009, Lue played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards, the Orlando Magic, and the Boston Celtics. He is perhaps best remembered for his time with the Lakers, where he was part of the team that won the NBA Championship in 2000.
