Venkatapathy Raju, born on July 9, 1969, in Andhra Pradesh, India, is a former Indian cricketer known for his left-arm orthodox spin bowling. Raju made his international debut in 1991 and represented India in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches throughout the 1990s. His career highlights include being an integral part of the Indian squad during the historic 1996 Cricket World Cup, where India reached the semifinals.
Over his international career, Raju played a total of 28 Test matches, taking 93 wickets at an average of 32.23. In ODIs, he participated in 3 World Cups and collected 69 wickets in 153 matches, showcasing his ability to deliver crucial performances in high-pressure situations.
