Ville Koistinen, born on June 17, 1982, in Vantaa, Finland, is a retired professional ice hockey player known for his versatility as a defenseman. He began his career in the Finnish league, playing for teams such as HIFK and JYP, where he garnered attention for his solid defensive skills and offensive contributions from the blue line. Koistinen's performances in Finland earned him a place in international competitions, allowing him to represent his country at various levels.
In 2004, Koistinen transitioned to the National Hockey League (NHL) after being drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 7th round (221st overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
