Warren Wells, born on November 14, 1942, was a prominent American football wide receiver known for his impactful career in the National Football League (NFL). Wells played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1964 NFL Draft. He later gained recognition for his tenure with the Oakland Raiders, where he showcased his explosive speed and exceptional receiving ability.
Throughout his professional career, Wells was known for his remarkable playmaking skills, contributing significantly to the Raiders' offense during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He achieved notable success in 1969, recording 52 receptions for 1,189 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading the league in receiving yards and earning his first Pro Bowl selection.
