Wayde Sims was born on December 13, 1997, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He gained recognition as a promising basketball talent during his high school career at University Laboratory School, where he showcased his skills as a versatile guard. Sims went on to play college basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU), contributing significantly to the team during the 2016-2019 seasons.
Throughout his collegiate career, Sims achieved various accolades, including being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and playing a key role in LSU's deep runs in the NCAA tournament. Known for his athleticism and scoring ability, he averaged over 7 points per game and was recognized for his defensive prowess and leadership on the court. His performance earned him a place among respected players in the Southeastern Conference during his tenure at LSU.
Tragically, Wayde Sims's life and career were cut short when he was fatally shot on September 28, 2018, at the age of 20.
