Wesley Walker is a former professional American football wide receiver who was born on May 26, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he showcased his exceptional athletic abilities as a member of the California Golden Bears football team. Walker was selected by the New York Jets in the 4th round of the 1977 NFL Draft, marking the beginning of a prolific NFL career.
Over his ten-season tenure with the Jets, from 1977 to 1989, Walker gained recognition for his speed and playmaking ability. He recorded a total of 438 receptions for 8,306 yards and 71 touchdowns, making him one of the franchise's all-time leading wide receivers. Walker was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, earning honors in 1982 and 1986, and was known for his deep-threat capabilities, helping elevate the Jets' offensive performance during his playing years.
