Whitey Rigsby, born on August 15, 1926, in Evansville, Indiana, was a prominent American basketball player known for his time as a guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball at the University of Kentucky, where he was a key member of the team that won the NCAA championship in 1949. Following his college success, Rigsby was selected by the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1949 NBA Draft.
