Biography
William "Bucky" Hatchett is a former professional basketball player known for his exceptional scoring ability and leadership on the court. Born on January 12, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia, Hatchett gained recognition as a standout player during his high school career at Atlanta High, where he was named an All-American. He went on to play college basketball at the University of North Carolina, where he was pivotal in leading the Tar Heels to a national championship in 1996, earning All-Conference honors during his tenure.
After his successful college career, Hatchett was selected in the second round of the 1997 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets. Over the course of his professional career, he played for several teams, including the Detroit Pistons and the Sacramento Kings, averaging 14.5 points and 7 assists per game.
