Woody Strode, born on July 25, 1914, in Los Angeles, California, was an American football player and actor, known for his contributions to both the NFL and film industry. Strode played college football at UCLA, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete. After his collegiate success, he joined the Los Angeles Rams in 1946, becoming one of the first African American players in the modern NFL era.
Throughout his professional football career, Strode was recognized for his versatility and athleticism as a player.
