Zeke Upshaw was born on May 27, 1991, in Brentwood, California, United States. He played college basketball at Hofstra University, where he gained recognition as a scoring guard. Upshaw earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors and became known for his sharpshooting ability and competitiveness on the court.

After college, Upshaw pursued a professional career, playing for several teams in the NBA Development League (now known as the G League). His most notable stint was with the Grand Rapids Drive, where he showcased his scoring prowess and contributed significantly to his team's success. Upshaw also had overseas experience, playing for clubs in Hungary and the Dominican Republic.

Tragically, Zeke Upshaw passed away on March 26, 2018, at the age of 26, following a cardiac event during a game.
