Biography
Walker Zimmerman is an American professional soccer player born on May 19, 1993, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Primarily a center-back, Zimmerman began his professional career with FC Dallas after being selected in the first round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. He gained recognition for his defensive capabilities and aerial prowess, earning a reputation as one of Major League Soccer’s top defenders.
During his time with FC Dallas, Zimmerman contributed to the team's success, including participating in the 2016 U.S. Open Cup Final. In 2017, he was traded to Los Angeles FC, where he continued to elevate his game and played a pivotal role in the team’s inaugural season. In 2020, he transferred to Nashville SC, where he was named team captain and helped the club reach the playoffs for the first time during the 2021 season.
In addition to his club achievements, Zimmerman has represented the United States nationally at various levels, including the under-20 and senior national teams.
